Director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Dhaka, Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Bangladesh Maxim Dobrokhotov took part in an online seminar organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh for accredited foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations in memory of the founder of Bengali statehood Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who was killed by the rebel military on August 15, 1975.
The Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh Abdul Momen was present as the keynote speaker. In his address, he emphasized that not all persons involved in this tragedy have been transferred to the Bangladeshi justice, indicating that 5 people have been still hiding abroad. In this regard, he asked for a possible assistance to find those criminals.
The Minister also recalled the enduring role of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in winning the freedom and independence of Bangladesh, especially noting the contribution of friendly countries, primarily Russia and India, in its formation as an independent state.
