On July 10, 2018 the seminar "Russia and Bangladesh - a multi-year positive experience of multifaceted cooperation" organized by the Bangladesh-Russian Friendship Society which was held at the Dhaka Club Conference Hall a prestigious venue for social, political, scientific and cultural events in Dhaka.
Honorary guests were: Prof. Arefin Siddiqui, President of the Bangladeshi-Russian Friendship Society; Md. Shahidul Haque, Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh; Saiful Hoque, Ambassador of Bangladesh in Russia; S. Popov, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Russia in Bangladesh; Abdul Manan Khan, member of the executive committee of Awami League the ruling party in Bangladesh & a member of the executive committee of the Friendship Society; Prof. Shahidullah Shikder, Vice-President of the Friendship Society; A.P. Demin, Head of the RCSC in Dhaka.
Representatives of many public, scientific and educational organizations, business circles and the creative intellectual of Bangladesh also took part in the seminar.
In their speeches the guests of honor in a concentrated form gave an assessment of the long-term mutually beneficial and equitable cooperation between Russia and Bangladesh at the interstate level in the sphere of economy, culture, science and higher education. Large joint projects were noted, including the construction of a nuclear power plant in Ruppur, the implementation of current projects of the Russian Technologies State Corporation in the field of military-technical cooperation, Gazprom on the development of gas fields in Bangladesh and a number of other important bilateral projects.
Cooperation through the ministry of foreign affairs of our countries ensures the development of practical ties at the level of ministries and departments of Russia and Bangladesh.
In recent years the activation of bilateral cultural ties the Days of Russia in Bangladesh (2014) and the Days of Bangladesh in Russia (in 2017) have been marked and similar resonant programmes for 2020-2021 are being prepared.
The cooperation between our countries in higher education and science is progressing.
As an illustration of his speech the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Russia presented to the participants with an interesting presentation with an analysis of the multifaceted bilateral cooperation between Russia and Bangladesh.
The seminar attracted the attention of representatives of a number of leading media in Bangladesh.
According to the participants' assessments the event was held at a high organizational level and expressed the opportunities of the Bangladeshi-Russian Friendship Society to organize socio-political resonance events.
In total about 250 people took part in the work of the seminar.
