The concluding ceremony of the Liberation War Festival-2019 was held at the Russian Centre for Science and Cultural (RCSC) in Dhaka on the occasion of the Great Victory Day, jointly organized by the Russian Centre for Science and Cultural in Dhaka and the Liberation War Academy Trust.
Maxim Dobrokhotov, Director of RCSC in Dhaka, Md. Kazimuddin Ahmed, Member of Parliament. Dr. Abul Kalam Azad presided over the ceremony.
The programme began with a musical concert and artists performed several of patriotic songs.
Then there was a short discussion. The speech was given by the Head of Russian Centre for Science and Cultural in Dhaka, Maxim Dobrokhotov, Honorable Member of Parliament Kazimuddin Ahmed and Chief Adviser of the Trustee of the Liberation War Academy Trust Mr. Azizur Rahman Aziz.
At the end of the discussion 20 prominent freedom fighters from different regions of the country were awarded the honor crest by the Russian Centre for Science and Cultural in Dhaka and the Liberation War Academy Trust.
Some of the freedom fighters became obsessed with the memory of them during the liberation war. Among them, freedom fighter Maya Rani Dey was burst into tears at the commemoration, followed by freedom fighters AIG Shafiul Alam & Md Shahjahan (journalist & writer).
The freedom fighters gratefully recalled the then Soviet Union's role during the liberation war. They said that, without the cooperation of the Soviet Union, Bangladesh's independence would have been impossible.
